Happy Tuesday, everyone! I’m back from my trip to Virginia, and I’m slowing getting back into my routine. While I was gone I did a session with my sweet little bestie! I’ve missed her so much, and we had so much fun during her session! We went to historic Fort Monroe in Hampton, Virginia. The place is absolutely gorgeous. There is so much history there and the buildings are beautiful! It has always been, and always will be my “happy place.”
Hayden is a total threenager and absolute diva. She’ll be 3 in a few months, and getting her wiggly self I love doing sessions with children. I’m a big kid myself, so when it comes to shooting their sessions, I let them do their own thing. Trying to get a little one to sit still is often times a struggle, and their expressions usually seem unnatural. I’m not a fan of that. I want to capture them in their element, where they feel most comfortable and real. With this particular session, that’s exactly what happened.to sit still wasn’t going to happen, so we ran around. We both had fun, she produced natural smiles, and I burnt off
some A LOT of calories! It was a win win for everyone.
There was a small hiccup when she dropped her fruit snacks that she was being bribed with. The session came to a screeching halt until they were located in the grass, but the second she had them back in her hand, she was off and running again. There’s nothing sweeter than the giggles of a child who’s having fun!
At one point, her sassy attitude emerged. I couldn’t let it slip away, so of course I captured it. This has to be my favorite image from the session!
Towards the end of the session, the camera was turned on not only Hayden, but myself. I’m not normally one who likes to be in front of the camera, but I love this because it’s definitely a memory I want to keep.
While I’m back from my trip, and my happy place, I’m excited to get back into the swing of things!
